Can I use castor oil for my itchy scalp and dandruff? The short answer, is yes!

Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid which has microbial & fungicidal properties giving castor oil the property to kill bacteria that cause dandruff. It also helps to protect the scalp from infections.

The omega-9 fatty acids also contain moisturizing properties to fight off an itchy scalp and prevent from dry flakes.

How To Use Castor Oil For Dandruff?

Castor oil can be applied directly to the scalp or mixed with jojoba or olive oil to intensify the benefits.

Mix 1 tbsp castor oil with 1 tbsp jojoba and a few drops of lemon juice. Warm in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds.

Dip your finger to make sure it’s not too hot as you don’t want to burn your head!

Massage the oil onto your scalp as this will help to improve blood circulation, promote hair growth, and of course, prevent and reduce the effects of dandruff.

Apply the mixture about 20 minutes before you was your hair or apply before you go to sleep and leave it in over night.

Repeat about once a week and within a couple weeks your head won’t be itchy and you will have noticeably less dandruff, if any at all!
